Since seeing Annie Hall in high school I've had a liking for Woody Allen. Sure, the whole having sex with your adopted daughter, and other things that might have happened are not something to admire, but that's not what I'm talking about.
Though I am less vocally neurotic, I believe I have similar mental characteristics of being a true pessimist. Truthfully, I've always felt I was Jewish in a past life, so my draw to him might also have something to do with that.
The simple style of Wood Allen that has stayed consistent through the decades of his career balance out the complex thoughts of all the bad things that can happen to us, like death. If I ever have to wear glasses in my life, I hope I find a frame that can stand the test of time for 40 years, and also look good on my face for that same amount of time.
I always try to find the perfect balance of casual meets casual business. Something Woody Allen seems to have mastered early on. The ability to wear some worn in jeans/pants, with some sneaks and a tshirt on top with a little something to pop over incase there's a chill. That's the ideal outfit.
I'm also a lover of layers. Dressing yourself is like cooking, you have to add different elements for a really successful outfit, even if it's super simple. My guy Woody just always looks like he's ready to go for a walk and shop, grab a drink, meet a date, go to a concert - know why? Simplicity and layers people!
Even his dressier looks have a casual, laid back feel which for me is a dream. I hate anything considered formal. Don't get me twisted, I think you can look great all dressed up but I just hate doing it. A simple oxford shirt, cool tie, and a sweater if needed is perfect for me, and my BFF Woody.
If you need me I'll be hanging by myself thinking about how much time I have left on this earth, then breath in a germ that blew through my window and wonder how long I'll be chilling dead on my bed before anyone realizes. Okay, maybe I'm just as vocally neurotic as good ol' Woody Allen, but who isn't?
